Aquà encontrarás algunas recomendaciones de libros en inglés que los adolescentes pueden leer para mejorar sus habilidades de lectura y comprensión. Los temas son adecuados para su edad y seguro los disfrutarán.
- The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros—set in Chicago; easy-to-read with short chapters
- Holes by Louis Sachar—young kids find an adventure after digging holes for punishment
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl—the inspiration of two different movies
- James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl—a small orphan boy has many magical adventures
- (All books by Roald Dahl are great and most have films. I would recommend watching the film beforehand so it is easier to understand the book!)
- Harry Potter series by JK Rowling—you might have heard of this magical boy, and it will be easier to understand as you know the story already
- Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher— This book is written in the past tense. Be aware *some of the themes in this book are dark and heavy.* If you enjoy, there is also a Netflix series.
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins—a girl fights to save her family and her country
- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak—Death is the narrator of this story of German family in WWII
I would also recommend books by Jaqueline Wilson, David Walliams and John Green.
I hope these ideas help you practice!
